Opening for Rob Heath (a fine musician and award-winning songwriter well worth hearing!)
Here I’m playing with Brian Volke guitar and mando, Rob McConnell on bass and Shawn Kingston on dobro and guitar. We have an hour long set before Rob Heath and will play a good sampling of my original songs, some of Brian’s and few old comfortable covers.

Wednesday November 9 - Swan’s Pub in Inglewood
The June Bugs played at Swan’s last spring and it was great fun. On the 9th I’ll be back with the Bugs along with the oh-so-fine fiddler Sarah Dillman as part of a casual evening of music. I don’t think we go on until 9:00 but the rest of the fun starts at 7:00

Saturday November 12 - Women of Wisdom fundraiser for the Calgary Emergency Women’s Shelter
Yup - the fun for me on Saturday the 12th continues… After the gig at Okotoks I dash to the South Calgary Community Association to join a raft of talented women artists and musicians for a celebratory evening of visual arts, readings and music. Here I’ll accompany my sister Catherine Simmons Niven in a musical reading of A Fine Daughter and A Christmas Forecast.

This is a June Bugs gig - a fundraiser for a school in Rwanda and all proceeds will go directly to the school. The evening includes decadent desserts and a short presentation on fair-trade products. I understand there will be different samples of fair trade coffee to taste and/or purchase for home and there’s going to be a silent auction. We’ll play about a couple of 20 minute sets. Admission price will be $10.00/person

Saturday November 26th - A Room Full of Sound
Here I’ll be playing with Tir Na N’Og and we’ll be doing a bunch of Brian’s newest tunes - the ones that we’re in the midst of recording right now (well, not at this exact second, but you know what I mean). Also playing that night is Darren Johnston and the wonderful, mountain songwriter Cori Brewster with Steve Fisher (and me - on a harmony line or two and possibly a little whistle).
